A configurable drying system covering automated or semi-automatic veneer feeding and four dryer technologies; net, roller, hot air roller, and press. Available in multi-chamber configurations for high-throughput mills, with optional inline moisture analysis, surface quality scanning, and chamber zone control.
The veneer drying line is the critical stage between peeling and panel assembly. Wet veneer arriving from the peeling line carries high and uneven moisture content that must be reduced to a stable target range — typically 8 to 12% — before gluing and pressing. Drying too fast causes surface checks and warping; drying too slowly reduces throughput and increases fuel cost. Our drying line is designed to give mills precise control over both, across four dryer technologies and configurable chamber counts.
The system starts at the feeder stage, where an automatic or semi-automatic veneer feeder loads sheets into the dryer infeed at a controlled rate matched to dryer capacity. Inside the dryer, veneer travels through a series of heated chambers — the number of chambers, the heat source, and the transport mechanism are all selected based on species, target thickness, target MC, and daily throughput requirements. Each dryer type delivers a different balance of drying speed, gentleness on the veneer surface, and energy efficiency.
For mills requiring tighter quality control, optional inline systems can be integrated before or after the dryer. The VMA-312 moisture content analyser measures outgoing sheet MC in real time, allowing the dryer speed or temperature to be adjusted automatically. The iPAWS-3 surface quality scanner performs post-drying defect detection, while chamber zone control systems allow independent temperature, humidity, and airflow management across each dryer section for consistent, repeatable drying performance.
Two configurable production stages flow from wet veneer infeed to dried, graded output. Click any system block or machine node to view its description. Feeder and dryer type selections are made at the configuration stage to match your mill's species, capacity, and target MC.
